A highball is a mixed drink made with one or more alcoholic spirits and carbonated water (typically club soda or ginger ale). It is served in a tall glass, such as a Collins glass, Highball glass or Pilsner glass.

The origin of the highball is unknown, but it is believed to have been first mixed in the early 20th century. The drink gained in popularity during Prohibition, as it could be made with non-alcoholic ingredients.
